Thinking of tracing your ancestors ?

Read these comments on the census blog first...........

The price of the 1911 is ridiculous. I got through £24 within an hour.

I think it's disgusting.

Its too expensive - £3.60 to download a single item.

Sorry, but the expense is off-putting to say the least.

At £3+ a scan I will certainly not be coming back. I have bought and used up two lots of credits (£13.90) in 15 minutes.

The cost of viewing is an outrage. Our ancestors gave the information for free. We should have a right to see them at a much lower cost.

I can't search as I'm not paying the rip-off merchants one penny. This is a disgrace. Why fill in census forms if years later it is held hostage for payment by greedy people ?

Unless the situation changes over the years, it will cost over £500 to research a book like "Who lived in Penkridge in 1901?"
